Virginia Commonwealth University’s CreateAthon onCampus

May 16, 2011

During the month of April, Carter Printing created an exciting new partnership with Virginia Commonwealth University’s CreateAthon onCampus. For those who don’t know, CreateAthon onCampus is a 24‐hour, work‐around the clock creative blitz during which student teams provide non‐profit marketing services on a pro bono basis. This year they served 12 non‐profits from the Richmond Community that were selected as organizations that would benefit the most from the event. The event is part of a service learning program that VCU has implemented in multiple schools to help teach students through hands on experience. Since the start of this event in 2007 CreateAthon onCampus has provided 51 non‐profits with over $700,000 worth of services and educated hundreds of students. Carter Printing Company is excited to now take part in continuing that service and education. After the past event Carter Printing worked closely with students, helping them turn their creative ideas into tangible materials. This process not only helped CreateAthon give more to the non‐profits that were involved, but helped educate students that had yet to learn about the wonderful world of print.
